01

Overview

You are in control of your data in Spectra. This page explains how to delete your account and associated data, what we delete, how long deletion takes, and the limited cases where we retain data to meet legal or security obligations. This page works alongside our Privacy Policy at getspectra.com/privacy.

02

How to delete your account

There are two ways to request deletion:

  • In the app: open your workspace settings and choose to delete your account or workspace. This starts the deletion process for the account and its associated data.
  • By email: if you have already uninstalled Spectra or cannot access the app, email privacy@getspectra.com from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete your account and data. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed.

You do not need an active login to request deletion by email, so you can exercise this right even after removing the Service.

03

What we delete

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the data associated with it, including:

  • Account and profile information your name, email, and login details.
  • Workspace content the datasets, records, files, messages, and other content you created or stored in Spectra.
  • Connected-integration data data Spectra retrieved from Third-Party Services you connected, such as Google Workspace and Slack, that we stored to provide the Service.
  • Derived data memory, summaries, embeddings, and other information Spectra generated from your content.
04

Google user data and OAuth tokens

If you connected a Google account, deleting your account (or disconnecting the Google integration) causes Spectra to revoke the OAuth access and refresh tokens it holds for you and to permanently delete them from our systems. After revocation, Spectra can no longer access your Google data. We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine-learning models. You can also review or revoke Spectra's access directly at any time from your Google Account's security settings.

05

Slack and other integrations

Disconnecting Slack or another Third-Party Service revokes Spectra's ongoing access to it and deletes the associated tokens we hold. Where a provider maintains its own copy of data, you should also manage or delete that data through the provider's own controls. For Slack workspaces on free plans, message and file history availability is governed by Slack's own retention limits.

06

Timeline

We begin processing deletion promptly after you confirm your request. Active-system data is deleted within 30 days. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup rotation, within 90 days. OAuth tokens are revoked at the time of the deletion request.

07

Data we may retain

We may retain a limited amount of data where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or maintain security. Any retained data is limited to what is required for those purposes and is deleted when the requirement no longer applies. We describe our retention practices in our Privacy Policy.

08

Contact and response time

To make a deletion request or ask about the status of one, email privacy@getspectra.com. We aim to acknowledge requests within 5 business days and to complete them within the timelines above.
